Privacy Policy

Last updated September 11, 2026

CurrentView ("we", "us") provides real-time availability boards for businesses ("customers"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It covers our website (currentview.app), the application (app.currentview.app), the public boards and embeds our customers publish, and email we send.

1. Who this policy applies to

Three kinds of people interact with CurrentView: customers and their staff, who sign in to manage a board; visitors to a customer's public board, TV display or website embed; and visitors to our own website. Each section below says which group it applies to.

2. What we collect

  • Account and membership data (customers and staff): name, email address, sign-in method, the businesses you belong to and your role in each, and the actions you take in the admin (which are logged with your account for audit purposes).
  • Business content (customers): business name, locations, items, descriptions, prices, images, branding and display settings — the material that appears on your board.
  • Billing data (owners): plan, subscription status and invoices. Card details are collected and stored by our payment processor, Stripe; we never see your full card number.
  • Board viewing (visitors): when a board or embed loads, our infrastructure provider receives the standard technical data any web request includes (IP address, browser type, time). We record an anonymous count of board sessions per business to protect the service from abuse and to show customers how often their board is viewed. We do not identify individual visitors, set tracking cookies, or build profiles.
  • Website analytics (visitors to currentview.app): we use Plausible, a cookieless analytics service that records page views and a few interaction events without identifying you.
  • Support: what you send us through the contact form or by email.

3. Why we collect it

To provide the service you signed up for; to keep boards live and secure; to bill subscriptions; to answer support requests; to send the emails the service depends on (sign-in links, invitations, billing notices); and to understand, in aggregate, how the product and website are used.

4. Where it lives

Data is stored on Google Cloud (Firebase) in the United States. Payment data lives with Stripe. Email is sent through Amazon Web Services. Website analytics are processed by Plausible in the EU.

5. How long we keep it

For as long as your business account exists. When a business is deleted, its content and member records are removed within 30 days; invoices are retained as long as tax law requires. Anonymous board-session counts are kept in aggregate.

6. Who we share it with

Only the providers named above, each bound to process data on our behalf, and authorities when the law requires it. We do not sell personal data and do not share it with advertisers. Your board is public by design: anything you mark live and put on your board can be seen by anyone with the link.

7. Sign-in providers

If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email and profile picture with us under Google's own privacy policy. Email-link sign-in only uses the address you give us.

8. Your rights

Owners can export their business data and delete their business from Settings. Anyone can ask us to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about them by writing to privacy@currentview.app. Residents of the EU, UK and California have additional rights under their local laws, which we honour on request.

9. Security

Access to business data requires a signed-in member with the right role; boards expose only the fields needed to display them. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting you, we will tell you.

10. Children

CurrentView is a business tool and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.

11. Changes to this policy

We will post changes here and update the date above. Material changes will also be announced to account owners by email.
